Osteopathy
Personal Care Physio and Osteopathy provides Osteopathic Manual Therapy (OMT), which focuses on the cause of pain and dysfunction rather than concentrating only on the symptoms. OMT strives to restore proper mobility to all body tissues, allowing for optimum health and total body function.
Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle method of detection and correction that encourages your own natural healing mechanisms to process the negative effects of stress on the central nervous system. You will also benefit from better overall health and increased resistance to disease.
During craniosacral therapy the patient is fully clothed. Using a light touch, the practitioner monitors the rhythm of the craniosacral system to detect potential restrictions and imbalances. The therapist then uses delicate manual techniques to release those problem areas and relieve undue pressure on the brain and spinal cord.
Craniosacral therapy helps alleviate:
- Migraines and headaches
- Chronic neck and back pain
- Motor-coordination impairments
- Stress and tension-related problems
- Infantile disorders
- Traumatic brain/spinal cord injuries
- Chronic fatigue
- Scoliosis
- Central nervous system disorders
- Emotional difficulties
- Temporomandibular joint syndrome
- Learning disabilities
- Post-traumatic stress disorder
- Orthopedic problems
- And many other conditions

public and our profession - Osteopathic Manual Practitioners are not members of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
“When I describe Jennifer (OMP) to my patients, I say that she is a HEALER. Not only are her skills and understand of the human body exemplary, but her kind, gentle nature and diagnostic skills are remarkable. Personally, I have been a patient under her care and have benefited from the depth of her knowledge and practical experience. We are very fortunate to have her in Chester.”

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy
The proper functioning of the lymphatic system is critical to our body’s ability to drain stagnant fluids, regenerate tissues, filter out toxins and foreign substances, and maintain a healthy immune system. This system can be hindered by surgery, trauma, burns, infections, substantial swelling, fatigue, stress, or age.
Lymphatic drainage is a standard hands-on technique similar to massage so you can expect to feel relaxed after a session. Our trained therapists use lymph drainage therapy to help recirculate body fluids, stimulate the immune system, and promote a state of relaxation and balance within the autonomic nervous system.
Lymph Drainage Therapy can:
- Reduce edemas (swelling) and lymphedemas
- Detoxify the body
- Regenerate of tissues (e.g. from burns and pre- and post-surgical scarring) and has antiaging effects
- Relieve chronic inflammation and conditions such as acne, eczema, and allergies
- Stimulate the immune system
- Reduce symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia
- Relieve chronic pain
- Create deep relaxation to aid insomnia, depression, stress, loss of vitality, and loss of memory
- Relieve conditions such as voluntary or involuntary muscle hypertonus
- Alleviate adiposis and cellulite tissue
Visceral Manipulation
Visceral Manipulation is a form of manual therapy that focuses on the internal organs, their environment, and their potential influence on many structural and physiological dysfunctions. It is used to locate and solve problems throughout the body and encourages your own natural mechanisms to improve the functioning of your organs, dissipate the negative effects of stress, enhance mobility of the musculoskeletal system, and influence general metabolism.
Visceral Manipulation is based on the specific placement of soft manual forces to encourage the normal mobility, tone, and motion of the viscera and connective tissues. These gentle manipulations can potentially improve the functioning of individual organs, the systems the organs function within, and the structural integrity of the entire body.
